Al Tour of Britain le condizione meteorologiche sono talmente brutte e al limite che la diretta televisiva ancora può iniziare. Pioggia tremenda già in questa prima tappa e a farne le spese è stato Marco Haller: il corridore della Bora-hansgrohe è stato coinvolto in un incidente con una moto e ha dovuto abbandonare prima che iniziasse. Ora si trova in ospedale per i dovuti controlli.
